Adapté en 2006 d’un roman de Howard Frank Mosher, Disappearances met en scène Quebec Bill Bonhomme et son fils Wild Bill dans une rocambolesque expédition de contrebande de whiskey qui révèle un mystérieux passé familial et se transforme en rite de passage pour le fils. L’action se passe en 1932, dans le Nord du Vermont, à l’Abbaye de Saint-Benoît et au lac Memphrémagog alors que la prohibition sévit aux États-Unis.
Disappearances a été porté à l’écran en 2006 par Jay Creva et met en vedette Kris Kristofferson, Charlie McDermott, Gary Farmer, William Sanderson, Luis Guzman ainsi que deux grands acteurs québécois, Geneviève Bujold et Lothaire Bluteau.
La projection sera précédée d’une présentation des personnages et de leurs racines historiques par nul autre que Howard Frank Mosher. Plusieurs se souviendront avec plaisir de son passage au Wordfest de Knowlton à l’été 2011. Il avait alors parlé avec beaucoup d’humour d’un autre de ses romans, Walking to Gatlingburg.

Bonhomme and
